My name is Tracey. I am 43 years old. I developed Secondary Lymphoedema following a hysterectomy in 2001 for the treatment of cervical cancer where an undisclosed number of nodes in the groin / upper leg area were removed.
It is prevalent in my left leg, but can occasionally affect my right leg too. At present, there is approximately a difference of 70% in my legs, the level can fluctuate and has been as high as 100% previously and has not dropped below 60% for a decade.
I currently wear compression 4 Jobst made to measure garments by day and Relax garments by night so that my leg is supported 24 hours a day. I have also undergone several rounds of MLD treatment to help me maintain the fluid in my leg.
